These four characters were created as part of a test to evaluate the impact of human characters in videos. I was involved in creating the rig in Spine, working closely with graphic designers and creating animation sequences to fit relevant danger situations. Throughout the process, I learned a lot about the Spine program and was able to onboard fellow creatives in creating a rig from scratch. These rigs have been reused multiple times since their creation and have shown success in their testing phase.
The 2.5D effect was achieved by adjusting the weights of different parts of the mesh in relation to different bone movement. By setting these weights, I was able to create the illusion of a rotating face and seamless blinking of the characters.
